The team signed their 18th-round pick in the 1961 draft, defensive back Joe Krakoski. Kraksoski had played for Washington in 1961 then quit prior to the 1962 season. He had shown up recently on a list of San Diego Chargers prospects and was spotted by Raiders general manager Al Davis, who claimed his signing rights on behalf of the team.
