The team held its first scrimmage of camp with head coach Al Davis calling the performance “not too bad.”

The team released the following rookies: fullback Bill Strumke, tackle Richard Peter, tight end Bob Witucki, halfback Bob Williams, and quarterback Dennis Spurlock. They also released second-year defensive back George Boynton.
