Preseason schedule

The team announced it had scheduled four of its five preseason games, with tilts against the Chargers, Bills, Titans, and Patriots on the docket. A fifth game, likely to be against the Texans, had yet to be nailed down.

Stadium talk

The Oakland city council was considering whether to place a $15 million bond issue on the June ballot for funding of a multipurpose stadium in the city. The proposed facility would be placed near the Oakland airport and would seat about 50,000, with room for expansion.

Other stuff

Erdelatz and Soda spent the evening boozing it up at a local Moose lodge to drum up interest and ticket sales. Ray Haywood of the Tribune weighs the chances of the area being able to support two teams. The team had reportedly signed 18 players in addition to those contracts assigned to the team by the league.
