News

The Raiders came back from a 6-0 halftime deficit to beat the Oilers, 24-13, in Houston.

The game was the team's first-ever win in a regular season opener.

Cotton Davidson and Tom Flores each played a half at quarterback.

Flores connected with Art Powell in the second half for a team record-tying 85-yard touchdown pass.

Powell caught seven passes for 181 yards and the touchdown.

The Oilers committed ten turnovers (six interceptions and four lost fumbles).

Tommy Morrow had three of the six interceptions.

The game marked the debut of the team's new black and silver uniforms.

Injury Updates

Guard Sonny Bishop suffered knee ligament damage, defensive tackle Dave Costa injured an arm, and guard Wayne Hawkins twisted his ankle.

Receiver Bo Roberson left the game in the third quarter with an upset stomach.
